My name is Mike Baldwin. “I’m not old, I’m mid-century”. Born in the 50’s, hippie and flower child of the 60’s, and Dead Head in the 70’s. My wonder years were influenced by the hopeful, futuristic, contemporary designs (now called Mid Century Modern, Space age, and Atomic of the Jetson’s era and moon landings. It was also a time of war protests, struggle for basic human (civil) rights, and birth of the ecology movement.
As WE CONTINUE to work to create a more peaceful, just, equitable and sustainable future, I hope my still futuristic designs (borrowed from the past)will inspire you. I create décor, accents, and personal accessories that both hearken back to that optimistic era and bid us to continue to look hopefully and boldly to the promise of the future.
My other loves and inspirations are: my family, especially my grandchildren (who are a hope for the future), my Irish heritage, sports fishing, train travel, Route 66, and bicycling.
In addition to the items displayed here, I am also available to design and create custom designed and personalized engraved items for you for any occasion or use. From office signs to birthday, anniversary, weddings, and graduations. I work primarily with laminated woods and recycled acrylics. I also engrave on metals, ceramic (such as tile) and glass.
